Hey everyone! Dad wanted to send a special thank you out to our WONDERFULAMAZINGAWESOMEINCREDIBLE family and friends. We had originally planned on doing a video thank you, but the darn guy just kept getting choked up. So we switched gears a bit and he dictated his thank you to me. I've typed it for you, verbatim, here.
To all my friends, family, and the kind-hearted strangers who donated money, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you. The support and love I feel from all of you is overwhelming. Really, I don't have the words. I know you are all battling with me, but to see just how far y'all are willing to go is a blessing. Truly. I wish I could personally hug and thank everyone who donated. For the friends and family who are viewing this, know that I couldn't be more grateful for your generosity. For the kind strangers who can't read this, please pass my sincerest thanks along.
I want to especially thank Brandie Cameron (my beautiful niece) for coming up with such a thoughtful idea. I also want to thank Holly Matt (my wonderful sister-in-law) for purchasing the items for the basket. The baskets were wonderful and the winners were so lucky to have such an awesome Easter gift!
I also want to include this verse from 2 Samuel 2:6, "Now may the Lord show steadfast love and faithfulness to you. And I will do good to you because you have done this thing." I don't know if I'll ever be able to repay the kindness that you all have shown me. But what I can do is be good to all of you. If any of you ever need to lean on me, I am here for you as you have been for me. I thank y'all. I love y'all.
Buddy
Now you can see why the video was out. I got choked up just from typing it. I do want to take a second on behalf on Mom, Colton, and myself to also thank all of you for working so hard to raise so much money. The end total was just over $2700. I say again, $2700. Let me put that in perspective for you; you all bought my Dad a round of chemo. You have literally saved his life for a little while longer. For that, there is nothing Mom or I could say to make you understand how grateful we are. Just please know that we are so, so thankful for all that you have done. We love each and every one of you and hope that one day we can show you all the same support and kindness you have shown us. Although not because of cancer. No one else get cancer, you hear me?!? We love you. We love, love, love you!

Several friends and family members have expressed a desire to donate to Dad's expense fund. While this is certainly not necessary, we absolutely appreciate the sentiment. We are learning that cancer is an expensive disease to have and every little bit will help.
We have set up an account on GoFundMe.com. This is a safe, secure way for people to donate online. There are no hidden fees and the payment process is encrypted. If you donate $10, that is all that will be deducted from your account. We did a test donation just to be sure. It's safe and straightforward and every penny earned will go toward travel expenses and treatment costs at M.D. Anderson.
We are so thankful for each and every one of your prayers, thoughts, donations, and well wishes. It means so much to Dad that he has your support during this difficult fight. It's a lot easier to face this head on when you have so many people rallying around you. Keep those positive thoughts coming! Thank you again everyone.

Thank you so much for all of your generous donations! You guys mean more to us than you know!

In case anyone is interested, I am including a link to Zazzle.com. They have a big selection of apparel showing support for colon cancer awareness. This is not a fundraising site, we have GoFundMe.com (see above) for that purpose. This is just a way to show your support for his fight should you choose. We will be purchasing the shirt in the photo for Dad when he wins this battle.
